Sourdough Discard Brownies

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1 tbsp vanilla
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1/2 - 3/4 cups sourdough discard
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease your 9x9 pan with butter or cooking spray.
Melt the butter and chocolate chips in a saucepan until there are no chocolate chunks. Add in the vanilla. Remove from heat and set aside.
Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
Add the chocolate mixture to the dry ingredients.
Add in the eggs and discard and combine until smooth.
Pour the batter in the prepared baking dish and bake for 30 minutes.
Feel free to let your creative flag fly high here. If you love extra chocolate, throw some whole chocolate chips in the batter. Maybe peanut butter is your thing? Add some peanut butter chips and enjoy a Reese's inspired brownie! We love to add caramel to the top of ours before baking, but whichever path you choose, just know that it will be amazing!
Side note: Everyone's oven heats and cooks differently so be mindful of cook times. My cooking times work for my oven, however, some older ovens may take a little more time, and some ovens tend to just cook faster.
